Major works will affect your journeys on 12, 13 and 14 August 2023

For several years now, the RER B, Europe's second busiest line, has been the subject of massive works and investments, particularly on the northern axis of the line. The work that will be carried out on Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 August 2023 is the culmination of a phase of more than two years of work by SNCF Réseau teams.

The work will provide the RER B with a temporary terminus at La Plaine Stade de France station, designed to keep trains running in the event of traffic disruption on certain sections of the line, and to prepare for the arrival of the CDG Express shuttle. These new facilities will complement the temporary terminus at Le Bourget, which will be completed in the summer of 2022, in order to increase the number of train turnarounds to the north of line B.

As a result, RER B traffic will be completely interrupted between Gare du Nord and Aulnay in the direction of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, as well as between Aulnay and Mitry from Saturday 12 to Monday 14 August 2023.

This is why the Administrative Center of the Île-de-France region, Île-de-France Mobilités and Transilien SNCF Voyageurs are inviting all those who are able to do so to postpone their journey, particularly on Monday 14 August.

In order to enable everyday and occasional travellers to make their own arrangements and, if necessary, to plan alternative routes, a massive information campaign has been running since April. In addition, specific communication will be sent to employees and their employers, administrations and their employees, tourism operators and, of course, the inhabitants of the areas served by the RER B. An exceptional replacement scheme has been put in place for travellers with compelling reasons to travel.

Closure of the RER B from 12 to 14 August:

  • Closure due to works on Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 August.
  • Between Gare du Nord and Mitry-Claye and between Gare du Nord and Aulnay-Sous-Bois towards Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
  • Postpone your journey. More information on the Île-de-France Mobilités app, transilien.com and other mobility apps.
