The toy museum
Just 30 minutes from Paris, the Poissy Toy Museum invites you to discover 800 old games and toys, dating from 1850 to 1950. Rocking horses, electric trains, toy soldiers and porcelain dolls await visitors who are interested in learning about the history of toys.
A little history
Here's an idea for an outing that will thrill both kids and adults who want to go back to their childhood: the Poissy Toy Museum. For over 40 years, an association of enthusiasts has brought their collections together. The museum now exhibits more than 800 old toys and games. It's a far cry from the world of electronics and video games. Discover porcelain dolls, toy soldiers, rocking chairs, electric trains and teddy bears, in the majestic setting of the gatehouse of the former royal priory, a 14th-century building.
In addition to the collections of toys, dating from 1850 to 1950, there are temporary exhibitions. A visit to the Toy Museum, listed as a "Museum of France", is fun and interactive, with game areas and events. The space regularly hosts workshops and shows designed for a family audience.
