Science and fun
The goal of the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is to help explain science and its importance in a fun way. The centre is located at the heart of the Parc de la Villette, next to the Géode, a 36-metre geodesic dome that contains an IMAX cinema screen.
The Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is for everyone. It presents all the major scientific disciplines through its permanent and temporary exhibits, on subjects such as geometry, optical illusions, mathematics, sounds, and more. And of course, there's the Great Story of the Universe. The Louis-Lumière cinema, the planetarium, and an authentic attack submarine, the Argonaute, complete the centre.
Two Cités des Enfants allow younger children to explore the world of science. One is for children aged 2-7, and the other for those aged 5-12. Plenty of activities, workshops, and exhibits will keep children busy. They can explore, experiment, and learn! After this visit, they're certain to know everything there is to know about topics such as light, energy, and the human body!
