Musée d'Orsay

“The station is beautiful, and has something of a Palace of Fine Arts about it...” wrote painter Edouard Detaille in 1900. Some ninety years later, his prophecy was to come true.

The museum is especially renowned for its collection of Impressionist paintings. It is however widening the scope of its collections to cover hitherto neglected fields. In addition to paintings, sculptures, the graphic arts and objets d'art, there are newer collections of furniture, architecture and photography.

Musée d'Orsay
The Musée d’Orsay regularly organises temporary exhibitions.
